"A True Farm Market Experience Detwiler's Farm Market lives up to its mission of providing "the best farm market experience in the world." This place is a food lover's paradise. I love the fact that it is a family owned Christian company. The staff is so amazing friendly and helpful. The produce section is stunning—vibrant tomatoes, gorgeous radishes, fresh peppers, and leafy greens displayed beneath a charming farm mural that makes shopping feel like visiting the countryside. The tomatoes alone are worth the trip. The seafood counter is exceptional, with whole fish on ice, beautiful tuna steaks, and swordfish—all looking incredibly fresh. I was impressed by the specialty offerings: Force of Nature grass-fed venison and elk, Farm 2 Flour stone-milled organic einkorn and bread flour (with a sign boasting "you can't get any fresher unless you picked and milled yourself"), and an enormous cheese shop featuring over 100 varieties with a towering Parmigiano Reggiano display. The prepared foods section has sushi, curry chicken salad, sesame noodle salad, and more—all reasonably priced. The deli cases are stocked with house-branded hams and carving meats. Don't miss the charming sections for local honey, nuts, nut butters, jams, jellies, and candy displayed on rustic wooden crates. This isn't just a grocery store—it's an experience. By the way. There is a huge new shopping area plan for the intersection of 75 an Big Ben Rd. It would be a great location for a new Detwiler."

"Detwiler’s in Palmetto is one of my favorite places to shop because it combines the feel of a farmers market with the convenience of a grocery store. The produce is always fresh, local when possible, and sold at very fair prices. Their selection of meats, seafood, and deli items is excellent, and you can really taste the quality compared to big chain stores. The bakery section is also a highlight, with fresh breads, pies, and treats that always tempt me to pick up something extra. The staff is friendly and helpful, making the shopping experience easy and enjoyable. Shopping here feels more personal and community-oriented, and it’s a great place to find healthy, fresh food for the family. Don’t forget to try the ice cream!"

"I’ve been to the market in Sarasota which is bigger w/ more variety of certain things that I was looking forward to, like pickles for instance. This market in Palmetto was packed to the brim w/ fresh produce, seafood, butcher, donut making station, cheese tasting area, deli and everything in between. I highly recommend driving over the Skyway for affordable, uber fresh, interesting produce(which I didn’t take advantage of yesterday, next time). It’s shocking we bought all of this for only $64?!!"
